The Pros and Cons of Community

Posted on by

community

There are lots of pros about living in a community, but there are also lots of cons. In my community, the pros are being able to talk to neighbors and having grocery stores nearby. Everything is fairly close to me, in the big picture. If you don’t live in a community, you don’t receive those luxuries. Also, if you live in the middle of nowhere and not in a community, you can’t talk to any neighbors and you end up being a loner.
If you live in a community, you do have lots of luxuries. You have practically everything nearby. Also, there are little communities such as basketball teams. I am part of the Forest Ridge basketball team. If I were not a part of that team, things would be quite different. Community is absolutely a good thing in that respect. Small communities help you make friends and have good times.
There are cons to community as well. If you live in a community, you have to follow certain rules. Some of which are what you can park on your driveway or how you have to keep your outdoors looking. If you live in the middle of nowhere, you can do whatever you want. You can keep your property as junky as you want and you can store whatever you want outside. In communities, people establish rules and if you don’t follow them you have a consequence. The consequence is minor but it is still a consequence.
There are definitely pros and cons to living in a community and not living in one. In a community, big or small, you can make friends and socialize. However, you have to follow requirements and you are in a sense a bit controlled. I like living in a community. But others don’t. This is why community can be good and bad.

What I am Thankful For

thank-you-veterans

Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all that you have. I am thankful that we have veterans, police, firemen, and the military to keep us protected. I am also thankful that I am capable of playing the sport of golf. The final thing I am thankful is my family. I am very grateful to have all of these things in my favor.
The first thing I am thankful for is that we are being protected by our military and our police officers. All of the firemen and veterans protect us day to day and get no respect. We do need to respect our veterans and the people that have served us way more. All of police and firemen risk their lives daily just for us. They don’t benefit, we do. All of us need to be thankful for all of the men who serve us day by day. I am extremely thankful for them.
The next thing I am thankful for is the sport of golf. I love to golf. This past weekend, I played 90 holes of golf in two days. I am thankful that we have golf courses nearby and that I can play for free at one golf course. I am thankful that my dad and I are both healthy enough to play that much golf per day. My life wouldn’t be the same if it were not for golf. I would not live anywhere near the life that I do today without golf. I am very thankful that the sport exists and that I can play it.
The final thing I am thankful for is my family. My family cares about me and they are always supportive of what I do. Also, my family always supports me when I am struggling with something. I am very lucky to have a family that cares about me. My life wouldn’t be the same if it weren’t for my mom and dad.
I am very thankful for everything that has been done for me. I am thankful for the veterans and cops that protect us daily. I am thankful for golf and that I am healthy enough to play the sport. Finally, I am thankful for my family, and especially my parents and all that they do for me. Everyone needs to remember to be thankful on Thanksgiving and all other days as well.
